Easy to make tasty Gujarati Recipe
Ingredients:-
For Dhokli:-
6 tbsp. Wheat flour
A small pinch of Turmeric powder
A small pinch of Asafoetida
A small pinch of Red chilli powder
Salt to taste
½ tsp Oil
Water
For Shaak:-
1 tsp. Ghee
1 tsp. Carom seeds
1 tsp. Cumin seeds
¼ tsp. Asafoetida
½ cup Brown chickpeas, soaked for 4 hours and pressure cooked
¼ tsp. Turmeric powder
½ tsp. Garam Masala
½ tsp. Chaat Masala
¼ tsp. Red chilli powder
¼ tsp. Black salt
½ tsp. Cumin powder
3-4 Kokums
1½ cup Water
3-4 small cubes of Jaggery (optional)
Salt to taste
½ tsp. Wheat flour
Method:-
1. Mix all the Dhokli ingredients together and make a dough. Dab a little water and cover it with a bowl and let it rest.
2. Heat ghee in a pan and add the Shaak ingredients to it.
3. Apply oil to the palms and the steel bowl and make even small balls and press with a steel bowl to make it slight flat small puri kind of dhoklis.
4. Add the Dhoklis in boiling Chana Shaak and cook for 5-6 minutes on high flame.
5. Add wheat flour to thicken the gravy and cook until water dries out.
